Faculty of Education
The Faculty of Education at SIMAD University was established in 2011 to address Somalia’s critical need for qualified teachers. It recognizes education as the cornerstone of national development. With a focus on STEM and language education, the faculty combines rigorous academics, practical training, and research to produce educators who transform classrooms across Somalia.
Under the leadership of Dean Abdikarim Mohamed Ahmed, the faculty emphasizes innovation, inclusivity, and evidence-based teaching. Strategic partnerships with local schools and global institutions further enhance its impact.
The faculty’s core objectives include expanding specialized programs, integrating EdTech and research, strengthening community outreach, and ensuring graduate employability, all of which are aligned with Somalia’s education goals.

We offer specialized undergraduate programs designed to equip future educators with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their teaching careers. These include:

Our undergraduate programs typically take four years to complete, providing a blend of academic knowledge and practical classroom experience.
To apply, prospective students should meet the following criteria:
Completion of secondary school with a minimum overall average of 50%
Submission of secondary school certificates (original and a copy)
Six passport-sized photos with a white background
A letter of good conduct from the secondary school
Successful completion of an admission interview and/or test
Yes, our programs integrate hands-on classroom experience through teaching practice in local schools. Students are required to complete fieldwork during their study.
